In 2000, Midnite
returned to live in St. Croix and opene their own African Roots Lab recording studio
and record label. The music emerging from Afrikan Roots Lab personifies the
essence of the STX roots explosion at its finest. Masterful engineer Ron Benjamin
works with the local musicians and his fellow Midnite members to create an
unparalleled roots music vibes. |

The Music
Jubilees
of Zion was the debut release from Afrikan Roots Lab. This album
was recorded at the Afrikan Roots Lab studio, and was briefly released on
the Midnite Roots Music label. Since that time, numerous other recordings have been made at Afrikan
Roots Lab, most of which have been released under the label of the same name. For
